Taro, the artist behind Mudthrone Studio, is a Jewish, LGBT+ comic artist, writer, and visual storyteller with a passion for bold narratives and immersive worldbuilding. Blending dynamic composition, expressive color, and sharp storytelling, their work pushes the boundaries of comics as they explore the intersection of print and digital media.

Their artistic journey began at the Baltimore School for the Arts, leading to a BFA in Comic Art from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, with minors in Animation and Creative Writing. Taro’s work is defined by dynamic composition, expressive color, and immersive storytelling.

Based in Minneapolis, Taro is an active member of the local comics and self-publishing scene, frequently selling work at conventions and collaborating with fellow creators. Drawing inspiration from comic history, animation, and experimental printmaking, they are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of visual storytelling.

When not making comics, Taro enjoys cooking, bothering their cat, and spending time with friends.
